Question:

Direct hire (staffing agency)?!!?

I was told by a staffing agency that I were hired by their client. However, I realized that I did not ask for any questions, for example, is there any dental or vision benefits; vacation pay...etc, regarding to the company I am going to work for. So, I wrote an e-mail to my staffing agency and she put an "interview" ( I am not sure if it an interview or not, anyway) for me and the employer. I am wondering what the purpose for the meeting would be~ Does that mean I am still under their consideration? Or, the employer simply just wants to talk with me about the benefits of the job or anything related to the job?

  1. Sounds like there is poor communication on both your parts, if you haven't actually interviewed w/the company that is to do the hiring, then don't count yourself as having the job yet. A staffing agency doing direct hiring will locate clients w/potential jobs for you, however the client or potential employer will make the decision and will interview you before they do that. The staffing agency probably interviewed you, but that was to see if they wanted to take you on, more of a screening process, then if there is a client (potential employer) that has a job that you might be qualified for then you interview with the client.  It sounds to me like you will be interviewing, just like at any job, so be prepared for a regular interview, have your questions ready to ask them as well.  However to prevent further miss-communication call your staffing agency and ask, am I interviewing, what's the process, etc.
