I was looking into getting satalite tv because it is a lot cheaper than cable, Do you use satalite? How often does it go out and how is it compared to cable.

  1. We recently moved so I compared Direct, Dish and the cable.  We ended up picking Dish because it was about $10-$15 cheaper per month.  Dish has dual receivers that control 2 tvs.  We have two dual receivers on a total of 4 tvs.  With Direct we would have had to get 4 and paid for each extra box.

As far as the service, we went thru a local retailer and he is amazing!  He was out here the very next day to install the sytsem.  I've never had any trouble with it going out besides once when I hit it with a lawnmower..  The retailer was here within an hour to fix it!  One thing cable doesn't tell you is that they get their programming thru satellites also..

Check out the 722 if you look in to Dish.  That receiver is amazing.  It's easy to use and the picture quality is stunning.

  2. Satellite does not go out anywhere near what people think assuming it's installed correctly.  Although DISH may be a tad cheaper they're programming is not as robust as DirectTV.

DirectTV has almost 3 times the amount of HD channels and is the exclusive provider of NFL ticket.

    I'd go with DirectTV
