DirectX and the sims lifestories

I just got the game "The Sims Lifestories" When I tried to install it it said I needed directx 9.0 or higher. I downloaded and installed Directx10 for gamers but the sims still says i need to install it. HELP!!

  1. sometimes games can be picky. have you checked to see if the game cd has an option to download directx with it during the installation?
