  1. Houston to San Antonio on I-10 follow 410 south to I-35 junction[or I-10 to 35 junction near downtown] and continue to Laredo [or take state 59 from Houston to Laredo] cross into Mexico at Nuevo Laredo, get vehicle permit and permission to be in Mexico...continue to Monterrey on 85...then from Monterrey to Saltillo ... you will enter Saltillo on Venustiano Carranza Blvd...from there take a right on perriferico Luis Echeverria, this road will turn into highway 40...continue on to the small grape growing resort of Parras...stay on 40 to Torreon...from Torreon continue to Durango on 40....Durango to Mazatlan.

  2. See 1st site below for suggested route..add a few hours to the time as this site is often short on time.  See 2nd site for car permit info.  Wise to get it at the consulate in Houston before going...the lines at he car permit office in NuevoLaredo can be hours long. You will need Mexican car insurance and there are many agencies,  See next site for my favorite. You will also need a Mexican road atlas...the Guia Roji.  Can buy it at big book stores or order from Amazon, com.  I have not driven this route myself, so hope you hear from someone with personal experience with it.

Edit:  Jeff, i have some other info..please e-mail me.
