Hi all,

Im staying at the Manchester Central Travel Lodge Hotel tomorow and want to visit a restaurant called 'Bouzouki By Night'. The hotel is on Blackfriars road and the restaurant is on Princess Street.

Is this in walking distance or would we need to get a taxi. If it is walkable could someone please give me some directions. If not how much would a taxi be.

Also has anyone ever visited this restaurant and if so what do you think of it?

Thanks all

  1. The distance from Blackfriar Road to Princess Street is 15km or 9 miles.

    Grab a taxi!!

  2. It's not far. Walk up Blackfriars Road making sure you follow the signs directing you to Manchester, and not to the Salford end. When you get to Deansgate, turn right. When you see John Dalton Street on the left side of Deansgate, walk down there, and at the end of John Dalton Street is Princess Street. It is only about half a mile or so.

  3. Yes its a lovely restaurant and to get there from where you are staying is only about 15mins walk but get a taxi will only be a couple of quid. A taxi is really the easiest option for someone unfamiliar with the city.

Anyway hope you have a great time in Manchester. Also Thursday is traditionaly student night here so some good offers in bars and clubs will be available if thats what you are also looking for.

Please ignore the answer below as they obviously know nothing about Manchester. You are looking about 3/4 of a mile away if that

Any other info you require please do not hesitate to e mail me.

    Cheers.

  4. this is easy walking distance and takes about fiftenn minutes or so. Leave your hotel and turn left towards the river and walk up. Cross over Deansgate and keep walking straight on. After 5 - 10 minutes you will be in Piccadilly Gardens. Walk through the gardens and you will come to a main road called Portland Street which you will recognise by a large number of posh hotels. Turn right, and walk down Portland Street. Princess street is off Portland street but im not sure what turning it is, but it is a main road and it is well marked. If you wanted a taxi this would probably cost about £7 or £8, and if its a nice evening its a fairly pleasant walk
