Directtv DVR?

I have had a Directtv DVR for awhile now model R15. I've had may plan through them for about two years now and have had to have about 5 new DVRs, Is anyone else having this problem? One of them it would just quit recording, then the new one the remote wouldnt work more than 2 feet away. Then the others would sometimes record the shows set. Now this one will periodacally not record if another station is recording, or just lock up and when you reset it it would lose all shows recorded within the last 24 hours.and it would just not record stuff; Is this just a freak of nature I'm going through or are others having trouble?

Wow, that is crazy!  I have had a Directv DVR for at least four years, no trouble.  

It is Samsung S4040R.

I just recently bought an extra used remote for it on Ebay.  

The only thing I can say is that I have not permitted them to upgrade me to the new DVRs they have out because I like my setup so well.  It is an older model with older Tier programming but it is perfect for me.

I wonder if you might be having some kind of electrical surge on your line.  Do you have a good surge protector?  Maybe invest in a UPS box.

leave direct tv and come to dish network all the devices work and no problem with them at all.
