Directv,can I use a router?

I am moving into a older home and we have Directv with 2 DVR's,and 2 standard boxes. Can I use a wireless router to send the satalite signal from one outlet to all 4 devices?

  1. You'll need a Directv multi-switch with cables running to each one of the cables the signal will be send... but wireless service can't be. They don't work that way!!

  4. no, each receiver needs their own physical line run from the multiswitch in order to give you the programming.

    You can call 1 800 531 5000 and request the movers department. If your account qualifies (and it most likely will) you could have the whole move done at no cost (just a service commitment of 18 or 24 months depending on if you opt for new advanced receivers), including having the wiring and new dish put up for you.
