Hello. We are looking into getting Directv. But I want to know if I only get 1 DVR receiver will I be able to get it on 2 tvs like you can with Dish or does each tv have to get its own receiver? I dont want to have to get 2 different receivers for just 2 tvs if I don't have to. Cause I want to be able to record diferent shows at the same time like I can with the DVR service through Dish.

  1. I thought they'd give you up to 4 recievers.....call them , they'll tell you...or just look for one of their ads.

  2. You will need a receiver for each tv. In order to use the DVR you will need 2 lines run from the dish for each receiver. This is the only way you can record 2 shows at once or watch 1 while you record another. But I do know that you will need 2 receivers whether they are DVR or standard. You will probably be eligible to get the first DVR for free with a new customer offer but any DVR after that requires a $99 upfront lease fee and you will also have to sign a 2 year contract when you sign up for DTV. Hope this helps.
