Question:

Directv DVR Troubles?

Well, my DVR is woking great, I just have a couple minor problems. First off I have 5 Directv boxes in my house, one HD and one DVR, but with my DVR one the remote seems SLOW. I mean, I'll push a button and a few seconds later the channel will change, this does NOT do this with my other boxes, anyone else have this problem?

Also, is there an easy way to delete a massive amount of shows at once? I have about 150 shows I want to delete, and with my remote, this is horrifically slow.

But the main problem is my slow remote, it takes so long to go through the channels. Any help welcome.. Thanks.

  1. ok the reason it is slow is because you are dealing with a dvr this is normal with any dvr because the hard drive is bigger and has more space saved on it so it take s a few seconds more to process, if that isnt the case try resetting ur remote take the batteries out and press 1 for 10 sec, after that doesnt work REPLACE BATTEREIES THIS IS USUALLY THE CAUSE!

  2. It is a different system. It will never be as fast as the non-dvr box. Also HD boxes act different too. It has something to do with the fact that it has 2 tuners and a hard drive built into it. I never realized it my main tv has the tivo. and the pattern for the guide and speed is a totally different from the other boxes in my house.
