Directv DVR?

Question

I am thinking of getting a directv DVR for my TV. I do not know very much about it so can any of you help me Please! I have many questions. How much does the box cost to buy if it is not on sale because we are just started Directv because we did not get it when we signed up fo Directv. Do you have to pay monthly for the box and the service. If so how much? Can the DVR fast forward and rewind TV. I know that it can record shows but how much memory does it have on it.

The Directtv DVR for standard definition cost $99. The HD DVR is $199. There may be installation charges that run from $0 to $99 due to the dvr needing an additional line ran if you want to be able to record one program and watch another or record two different channels at once. Also if you are a new customer you do not have established payment history and may be charged an additional $50 fee. These are all leased receivers and  the charges are all upfront LEASE fees. There is also a 2 year commitment to upgrade to the DVR or HD. The DVR fees are $5.99 per month and there is also an additional receiver fee of $4.99 if this does not replace a receiver you already have. If you choose to go with the HD version there is a $9.99 per month Hd fee. You will have to pay for the receiver because you did not order it at the initial install. The DVR can pause, fast forward and record live tv. You can use it without the additional line but you will have to watch what you are recording, the additional line allows you to watch another channel while recording. Also the DVR can hold around 100 hours of recordings. Hope this info helps.
