Can the DIRECTV Plus® HD DVR box control two tvs? What i mean is, can i hook up the box and use two different remotes to control two different tvs?

  1. it is possible, yes. If you use a splitter.

    The reason it's not recommended is for several reasons.

    First, you'd have to watch the same channel on both TVs. The dual tuner function is specifically so you can record a second program in the background and is not used to show programming.

    Second, if you're trying to watch programming on both TVs, one or both are likely to give you a weak or no signal (giving you a snowy or black/blue/gray screen).

    If you don't mind either of these constraints then there is no problem. What you would want to do is get the splitter and connect the two TVs (a sales rep at WalMart, Best Buy, Circut City or any other electronics store/department can explain how if you need further details). Then you will want to purchase two RF remotes, (only one with an antenna). That allows you to control the receiver without a direct line of sight (like regular remotes require). It will work through a few walls and even cabinets. The best way to get the remotes is by calling 1-800-531-5000 and placing an order. They can have the remotes shipped via FedEx in about 3 days.
