About a month ago my TV programs well the video would jump up and down on the screen and turn white which made it impossible for me to watch my program and then about 2 weeks ago it wouldn't show nothing besides searching for satellite signal so my parents switched out my TV with a different one and it still did not work so we switched out the cable wires which both the TV and the cable wire i switched to worked perfect when they were upstairs more or less saying that its going to be something wrong with my room which is in the basement but it worked wonderful for 2 years before this ever happened so i don't understand if a different TV and a different cable wire doesn't work and my box that hooks up to the satellite works in a different room then whats going on whats wrong its not the wire not the TV nor the box so what the heck!PLEASE HELP!! Its so frustrating

  1. I had this same problem, its the receiver that is having problems or maybe your dish got blown to the side a little by the wind. You have to aether manually disconnect and reconnect or just call a direct tv person: its a lot easier than trying to figure it out your self.

  2. Thats a major problem concerning satelitte tv (which is why i recommend going digital with time warner). The first thing i would do, is check the actual dish itself. Make SURE the dish is pointed at the southern horizon. If that doesn't work, then I'm positive you just need a new dish; dishes are constantly exposed to outside wear and tear like rain, wind, dust, cold, heat, humidity etc. There are multiple factors that could lead to the deterioration of your dish, so i would call DirectTV and ask for a replacement if they find it is necessary to do so.

    Hope this has helped!
