  1. Make sure that all of the cables you can reach are tight and secure (even at the dish, if you can reach it - I don't recommend going up onto your roof or other precarious locations unless you are 100% comfortable with it). Also, make sure that there are no kinks or damage to the cabling as this can interrupt the signal.

If all of the cabling is as it should be and there is no damage, then unplug the sat in cable(s) and the power cable (you can do both from the back of the receiver to make it easy). Wait about 30 seconds, then plug in the power only. Let the receiver run through its startup and when it gets to the point where it *SHOULD* be showing programming it'll say "Searching for Satellite Signal" (which I'm assuming you're already getting). When you get to that screen, plug in the sat-in connection(s) again and see if that corrects it.

If that doesn't help, call 1-800-531-5000 and tell them what's going on. You will be connected with a Technical CSR who may give you a few more steps to try, but you may need to have a service call.

This would be a good time to opt for the protection plan as it gets costly to have a technician out or have any sort of replacement. A service call from a DirecTV certified technician is $79 without the plan, $19.95 if you opt for it at the time you schedule the service call. Plus, if you opt for it, all of your equipment on that account is covered so if anything else stops working or you need to have another service call for any reason you won't have to worry about paying the full price.

  2. First of all test the signal in all satellites, if is low might be a cable damage a problem with the dish moving, report it!!

Also check on the channels are having the problem could a broadcasting issue. but troubleshooting you will find out if not anyway a tech can check on the aligment as well.
