Okay right now my contract with Directv has just expired. I wanted to upgrade to HD DVR unit and the representative told me it cost $199 to lease the unit along with a two year contract. After the two years do you get that refund back or NOT? My guess is; the odds are NO! Is that a reasonable price? Does anyone have experience with Directv? HELP!

  1. No, in lease agreements, you never are refunded money at the end of the arrangement.  I have 2 receivers and had pay that cost for each...  Worth it though.  Still way better than cable.

  2. No money back at the end of your contract.  I have an HD DVR and I just LOVE it!

Once you have a DVR, you will never go back.  How nice to be able to record all your shows without having to program it multiple times.

  3. I made my wife go and buy a HD DVR outright. No lease no fuss just the $4.99 monthy fee for the other dvr in bedroom. We have directtv. I think that is the best way to go. The  HD DVR only cost $500
