  1. if it were true, yes...somehow I doubt the veracity of your numbers,  Not even tiger drove that far when he was that young,

  2. yes becuase as you grow older and more mature as a golfer you will hit it further it has a little bit of how strong you are but its all abotu how you hit. If you dont hit the ball right your gonig to hit a grounder but as you get older your gonig to be able to wack em

  3. That is very good and don't let watching someone else out drive you effect your morale the least. One thing to remember at your age pertaining to golf is the effects puberty will have on your swing. Don't forget that long drives 300+ are not always the best for course management. I coached H.S. mens golf for a few years and had a few kids that only wanted to get those longer shots in and ended up slipping in their overall game due the fact that while they were freshman they didn't get themselves into as much trouble and made better choices when they hit the ball 50 less yards. Keep up the good work and keep hitting those 250 fairway shots.

  4. Sure.  Keep practicing!

  5. better then i could do =]

  6. hey walter, you're an idiot.  7600 yards is what torrey pines is playing this year.  and you were right on when you said only 1 par 4 was under 400, thats right too, but to say you have to hit it long, is very very wrong and quite stupid.  280, which is a pretty average drive, not long, not short for tour standards, would be left with no more than 5 iron on any hole except 1, the most difficult hole on the course the 12th.  Every single one of those guys can hit the ball that are playing in the open, it comes down to who makes the most 6 footers for par, you're completely stupid to think otherwise.  Oh, and to the kid writing the question, if your math is as bad as your grammar, id say you hit it 150 off the tee and have driven it 250 downwind, and maybe sank two 25 footers.

  7. Absolutely. Remember, though, that 250 down the center of the fairway beats 300 in the trees any day. Don't get too hung up on distance. Concentrate instead on maintaining a smooth tempo from start to finish. If you're making solid contact with the ball, distance will take care of itself.

  8. If you are asking. No. Then you could do better. Next time try to hit one that far into the wind.

  9. drive for show, putt for dough...

  10. Good work!  A 250/260 drive for a 12 year old is fantastic.

Definitely do not get too caught up in driving distance.  The short game is much more important.  If you want to WIN, practice the short game.  Consider this:  if you shoot even par and hit every green, then you will hit 36 putts, which is 50% of all your shots.  No matter what you do, you will only hit a max of 14 drives.  Its obvious where all the shots are.  If you want to reduce the strokes, work on the short game.

In fact, I would not worry AT ALL about your drives.  If you are only 12 and hitting 260, you will be a long hitter when you grow, even if you NEVER work on your drives.

  11. That is far better than the average golfer that's for certain. The average golfer only drives the ball about 180 yards. I am assuming your talking about yards. If your talking about meters than that is even better for you.

But also remember that the game is won or lost in the short game. Pitching, chipping, putting, green side bunker shots are all extremely important to master.

    Keep up the good work.

  12. Yeah man that's good.  For all those people who say c**p like "drive for show . . . " or " . . . short game . . . " take a look at the length of U.S. Open course setup.  There's only one par 4 under 400 yards.  If you don't have the length, it won't matter how good of a putter you are.  All those folks upset that they can't hit it far have to play long par fours like par fives and they're upset about it . . . . LOL . . . go to the friggen gym for Christ's sakes you bunch of short-hitting wussies.

  13. Sure it's good, so long as your short game is as good.

  14. Golf is not about how far you can hit the ball - it is about how many times you hit it.

  15. Thats how far I can hit and Im a freshman. On the freshman golf team I was struggling to begin w/  shot accuracy. But then I realized something. I there is a hole that will take you two shots to reach the green no matter what, then don't hit the driver. You could go in the trees and f*** things up. Hit a 5 iron and another short iron to get to the green.
