Dirk Kuyt terms contract negotiations with Liverpool positive
Liverpool forward http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dirk-Kuyt-c11348 is currently in talks with the management over a new contract.
He would enter the last year of his current deal by the end of the on-going 2010-11 season and Kuyt deemed the negotiations to be positive.
“My contract has one more season to go after this but there are things happening. We have had some talks and I can only say it looks positive. I feel at home in Liverpool and I don't want to leave here,” stated the forward.
Kuyt is currently enjoying his football at Anfield and wishes to remain at the club until the end of his career.
“It has been a difficult time for everyone at the club with the changes that have happened since last summer but now I can sense something good is happening - I think http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 are on the way back,” added the striker.
Since his arrival from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Feyenoord-c39258 to Anfield, Kuyt has managed to play over 220 matches for the Merseyside clubs. He can play in any position up front. His desired position is to play just off the main striker but can operate very well on the wings as well.
Kuyt has remained loyal to the Reds despite the recent dip in form which saw them crash out of the top four in the 2009-10 season. He worked hard on the pitch whenever given the opportunity and believes that the Reds have turned their season around since
the arrival of manager Kenny Dalglish.
Dalglish replaced Hodgson as the Reds manager and is yet to lose a Premier League fixture. Liverpool suffered a lot under the leadership of Roy Hodgson, as the side was battling relegation since the start of the current season. However, under Dalglish, they
have reached the 7th spot and are looking to push for the 4th spot.
Liverpool travel to Upton Park to face West Ham United in the Premier League next week and would be looking to keep the chase for a top four spot on until the end of the season.
