Dirk Nowitzki, LeBron James: Top Performances from the Game-6 of NBA Finals (Part 2)
Dirk Nowitzki
Dirk Nowitzki was the second leading scorer from the Dallas Mavericks. Nowitzki added 21 points and clutched 11 rebounds to reach a key game-winning double-double of his career. For his staggering performance in the National Basketball
Association Finals Nowitzki was named the Most Valuable Player of the series.
During Nowitzki’s 39 minutes stay on court the veteran forward launched one from the three-point range, went nine of 27 from the field and was 100 percent from the charity stripe (2 of 2). Despite of temperature and sinus infection,
Nowitzki tried to gave his best and he helped the Mavs, as he thumped 10 of his 21 points in the final quarter.
With this achievement Nowitzki has eventually took his name out of the list of league’s greats, who didn’t win a championship ring in their entire career. This series was also not easy for Nowitzki as he had to go through illness
and a painful injury to lift his side above Miami Heat.
After the game Heat forward Chris Bosh said, "They just played the best basketball. Dirk constantly knocked down open shots. I mean, today he showed a lot of perseverance in just bouncing back. They made our defence work at the
end of the day."
From the Heat, following are the top performers of the day:
LeBron James
LeBron James was the top contributor for the Heat in game-6. James made 21 points, grabbed four rebounds, provided six assists and blocked one. James remained in action for 40 minutes, during which he went nine of 15 from the field,
hit two three pointers out his five attempts and was poor from the free throw line as he shot just one out his four efforts.
James failed to show his true colours against the Mavs, when it was really required and the major reason behind this deprived performance was his defensive approach towards the game, as he turned himself more into assisting player
rather keeping his previous aggression going.
Chris Bosh
Chris Bosh added 19 points along with eight rebounds and one steal for the Heat. During his 39 minutes stay on court, Bosh shot seven of nine from the field and made five free throws out of his seven attempts. Bosh was at the top
his game against the Chicago Bulls in the Eastern Conference Finals, but when the Heat needed him the most, he failed to put a good performance.
Mario Chalmers
Point guard Mario Chalmers aided the Heat in the second quarter, when the Mavs were guiding the way with their 12-point lead. Mario led the rally made a free throw and then few moments after it dunk one in and the Heat blew away
the Mavs lead by using a 15-8 run.
During the game Chalmers scored 18 points, wracked seven assists, grasped three rebounds and made three steals for the Heat in his 39 minutes stay. Chalmers went five of 12 from the field, hit two three pointers out of seven efforts
and was six of nine from the paint area.
