Dirt 3: Gymkhana released on Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC
After keeping the fans waiting for a long time, Codemasters finally released Dirt 3: Gymkhana, the latest addition of the acclaimed Colin McRae: Dirt series, on May 24th. The game has been released for Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC.
The latest addition to the Dirt franchise is being considered among the best racing games released in 2011. It is easy to understand the hype that surrounds the game after looking at its trailers. With better graphics than before, more realistic car mechanics,
additional locations, over 50 cars, new events than before and a lot more, the game promises an exciting experience for not only the fans of the series, but for everyone who enjoys a good racing game.
Codemasters had Ken Block, the professional rally racer from California, working with them while developing the game. With the 43-year-old in the team, Codemasters was able to take the game to an entirely new level in terms of realism and excitement.
Talking about Dirt 3, Block said that the game will hopefully introduce the sport of rally to a new audience. He feels that games, such as the latest release by Codemasters, not only educates people on rally racing but also provides them with an opportunity
to become familiar to a lot of other activities.
“A driving game is entertaining to everybody, and rally makes driving games even more fun because of the jumps and learning to slide the car,” said Block.
Commenting on Dirt 3: Gymkhana, Block said, “You’re able to do stuff with cars that you just can't find in other games, and I think it will have much broader appeal than other driving games. It's amazing how realistic they made the game in terms of how the
cars handle, but at the same time, it's simple to play.”
After looking at the latest Dirt game, it seems that Codemasters will have a tough time to come up with something better than it. The game was getting an amazing response even before it was launched, stunning the fans through its amazing presentation and
giving players more control over their car than before.
The trailers and numerous reviews that had nothing but praises for the game have raised a lot of expectations from Dirt 3: Gymkhana. We will know in a short while whether the game manages to live up to the expectations.
