my cat is an outdoor cat, he keeps on getting these black things on and under his chin, they look alot like little dirt clumps, and some are small like coffee grinds. theyre like matted into his fur on his chin and under, and but i dont know if theyre really dirt clumps, because he always has them no matter how often i pick them out, and he really dislikes them to be picked out, i think it hurts him, and i notice some fur comes out when I pick them out. could anyone tell me, if they know, what could these clumps be, and if they may be just dirt clumps.

  1. it sounds like cuts that are dirty my cat get those from scratching and then dirt get on them try some peroxide on his cuts and try to keep him clean.

  2. My cat got those from flea excrement (p**p). The fleas tended to congregate under her chin for some reason. Use a flea comb under there to get rid of fleas and the excrement.
