  1. well the past years they have all been 2 stroke motors but now 4 stroke is moving in and now the new crf 150 has greater power and more throttle control but if you are looking for a cr 85 i went to this store called rev motorsports who ships everywhere and they have this really sweet cr 85 for real cheap and the web site is called www.revdeals.com it is a cool shop

  2. The bikes now are mostely fourstrokes.  They figured out how to get more power with less weight.  My Honda Trail 90 was a fourstroke, but didn't have the power of todays bikes.

  3. even though the dirt bike is based along the same ideas, the bikes between noaw and then are totally different...

there is no real way to compare them, they are VERY different.

back in the 1980's, racers utilized the 2 stroke motoer, which principles have not changed over the last 30 years, but the 2007-2008 2 stroke machines produce much more power than those bikes in the 80's. the bikes have better suspension, brakes, stronger frames, totally different frame and chassis geometry, and he engines are different.

todays bikes are  lighter faster, and quicker than those of yesteryear...

Today the racing community utilises the 4 stroke race engine. they produce much more torque and power, but are also extremly easy to ride. they are really smooth.

a bike in the 80's or early 90's are no match for the bikes that are "brand new"..... I guess there is someone out there that disagrees with me, but in stock trim, todays bikes are way better...........

  4. Man the way they ride. The suspension the power man thier no Question about the difference its them guys in the eightys just had no technology.

  5. the difference is reliability. the two stroke biek puts out more power then the 4 strokes. they allow the yz426f or whatever it is the run in the 2stroke class.

some of the fastest bikes were 2 strokes ex. yz490, cr500, kx500, ktm360, husky 420 ect.

but the 4 stroke are more user friendly, with no powerband range like the 2's. if you can put up with changing rings often then a 2 stroke is worth it in my opinion.

  6. I am not very clear about that. But I can tell u a site named bikerkiss. It is a community of motorcycle enthusiasts. I think u can find exact answer there.

  7. There haven't been too many changes in performance just how the bikes are made and the materials used for the frame and design of the frame. I don't think they're any better today as far as running and horsepower, just lighter than before.that makes a big difference. just think about this a banshee or a yz have been set up the same for years but continue to get faster because they are getting lighter.

  8. -Weight

    -Horsepower

    -Suspension
