  1. a 250 would be a fine bike as long as you have a big open field to learn to ride in. when you first get the bike play around with the throttle get to know how it feels to gas it, and to go fast and let off. as long as you know the capabilities of the bike and power it has your all good. just take it easy!

    good luck

  2. If you're 6' 2", then you for sure need a 250. Just don't take it into third gear when you're learning how to ride well enough. Make sure someone who knows what they're doing helps you, especially with learning how to clutch cause that's where people get hurt when they're first starting out. Make sure you're in an open area with easy terrain. You don't want to get a feel for your bike on a bed of rocks.

150's are a dime a dozen. They're like 150/1500 trucks, they're cheap and easy to drive for a reason. You can only do so much on a 150 cc.

It also depends on what you're going to be doing with it. 250s are good for racing. 150cc are good freestyle bikes--but they can only do so much cause the engine isn't that powerful. But they're light, which is essential for a freestyle bike. One bike is good for one thing that they other isn't. Stroke is best for racing. But for freestyle, you don't really have the freedom to be changing gears when your flying upside down.

You can also customize your bike to make a 250cc more versitle. So it's definatley the smart choice to get a 250 cc. 150cc are good for learning though. Sorda like driving a 1500 truck when someone has their learners permit.

  3. Yeah, a 250 is a perfect size for you.

  4. If you are intending to race then the 250f is the way to go and you are right that the crf150r would be way too small for you.  My son is nearly too tall for his and he is around 5ft 6-7 tall.  Just take it slow when learning and you should be fine and as long as you have all the protective gear on all will be good.

Make sure you get in heaps of seat time on the bike before you think about racing it.  If you can sign up for some lessons at a local club.

  5. if you want to race, 250 4stroke/125 2stroke

otherwise get a 230 trail bike.
