Dirtbike race????

Question

I know it depends on who is riding them but do you think my bike (a 1985 honda xr200r) would beat about a 2004 or 05 ktm??

depends on the sive of the ktm, but if your racing a 200 then you will be riding with the 125cc class and the 2450 4strokes and the 125 two stroks would blow your bike out of the water.

KTM what? what size of ktm?

if its a 50 or an 85, then maybe, but if its the 125 or anything bigger, then sorry, but no.

technology has come so far in the past 20 years......

You didn't say what size KTM, but unless it is a KTM 50 you don't stand a chance. A KTM 85 would eat you for breakfast and a 65 probably would as well. Obviously if you're talking anything bigger than that get ready to eat roost.

My husband had an xr200r years ago and depending upon the riders I would go with even a 85cc ktm beating one, as a properly set up race bike would go round a motocross track  very smoothly and a xr200r would ride like a bag of doogy doo..

it depends what size the ktm is but providing the ktm is at least a 125 i would say the ktm as the xr would handell like c**p round a motocross track

Its possible. Depending on what type of race it is, it is mainly the rider ability. I have seen built bikes get beat by stock bikes, because the rider doesn't know how to ride.
