Dirty Sound on guitar?

Do you need Distortion pedal to make distortion sound on an electric guitar?

you can use a distortion pedal for a REALLY crunchy, nasty sound. But most amps have a channel or setting for dirty stuff. but a pedal will just give that extra UMPH!! to your dirty sound.

Yes unless your amp already has a built in distortion system in them. THere often inexpensive just 40 bucks

no u get an amp with distortion, almost all amps hav it (probably under gain)
