I have tried the Quicksilver stuff in the spray can before while running. Is there another way that is better?

  1. You should take the carburetors off and dis-assemble them. one at a time. Clean the jets out and clean them in solvent. Then rebuild them and install. I wouldn't spray any cleaner in the carb as it runs, that leans the fuel so instead of the gas/oil mixture being 40;1 or what ever you run the ration may be some what higher like 80:1

  2. if the carbs ARE gummed up, it is probably just the jets that need to be cleared... unfortunately, you have to take the carbs off and disassemble to be able to clean them... also, i don't recommend the "spray in" cleaners as once the carbs open to get the spray in, it goes straight through them and into the block... which won't get into the jets... if the jets are clogged, then not much of anything will get through them. once you get them cleaned, i recommend you use a fuels stabilizer in your fuel if you are going to let it sit for more than 30 days at a time... keep in mind... if you stabilize your fuel, then you must run that fuel mixture through the carbs/engine for it to keep the "goo" from forming in the carbs...

  3. depending on how dirty the carbs on i recommend a can of seafoam to throw in there..if that doesnt work take carbs off and buy the new rebuild kit..probably time for that anyway

  4. you can remove them and clean them piece by piece but i would not recomend this for a amature.  if you are good at stuff like that or have experience takeing machines apart and putting them back together you should be fine but make sure you put them back together right.
