Disability determination process?

yes I live in maryland and i applied for ssi on may 3 2008, my question is what steps do DDS take to make a determination and how long should I hear something soon

  1. They will go through all your Doctor reports and determine if they consider you disabled. Most people get turned down at least once. If you are turned down,appeal the decision. If you are turned down twice,then hire a SS lawyer. My case took two years till it was approved.
