Is there a way to disable sound playing in internet explorer?

that includes music playing in the background of games and stuff you can't turn off.

  1. Sure you can do that.

    1.Go to internet explorer->tools->internet options->Advanced->in multimedia section->uncheck the play sound in web pages.


  2. FlashMute is a good way for stopping flash based sounds blaring out immediately, but for html based sounds the option in ie doesn't allow a button on the webpage to start to listen to html sounds you DO want to listen to (other than having to uncheck the box) . In firefox, you use stop autoplay, which works the same as flash got and you get a complete solution

  3. Open Control Panel

    Open Sounds and Audio Devices

    Click on the Sounds tab

    There is a place there to shut the sound off
