Disadvantages of science and technology?

what are disadvantages of science?

Technology is generally a wonderful thing, but putting too much reliance on it can weaken a person.  If I count on my calculator to do math for me, I may lack a basic sense for the underlying calculations.  Without my calculator out, I could lose out buying something at 3/$5, when I could have gotten the other one next to it for $1.25 each.

Science is necessarily narrowly focused in its investigations.  It can tell us how to keep millions from dying of starvation, but does not tell us whether that is a good thing or not.

We become too dependent on it. in today's society, say a terrorist cell got their hands on an EMP bomb. That would be the biggest threat to the US since...ever. The higher the elevation where an emp bomb is detonated, the wider the affected area. In otherwords, if they detonated that high enough above the united states, they could literally fry every single piece of technology in the united states. Everything here needs tech. Our military would be weakened beyond belief, and the US would be vulnerable to attack. Not to mention the riots that would occur in our own nation.

Why technology and science need to had ant disadvantages? and related with what?

Science and tech try to resolve human practical problems. I just hunt my meet to eat, but, with fire, it will taste better.

The only problem trying to resolve 'practical problems' is 'where to stop'

Do we have enough technology? Do we have to much technology?

It depends in how do you want to live.

Do you want to spent your time pumping water manually for your daily shower, .. in that case the shower will be once a week, or once a month.

Electricity solve so many problems, but the use of technology generate new problems. Is a question of balance.

How you want to spent your time? Technology offer you more time, the issue is, Do you need that time?, How is te cost of this 'new' time?

The use you gave to that time worth the cost to free that time for you?
