Disappearing Task Bar and Desktop Icons!?!??!?

Question

my desktop icons and the task bar underneath disappear without notice...

when they disappear i cant do anything.. nothing responds except for like ctrl+alt+delete but that's pretty much it...

Why does this happen?

why does it mean?

what can i do about it?

etc...

This happens because the program explorer.exe (Windows Explorer) terminated and didn't restart itself.  If it happens repeatedly, it could be a sign of malware. Try this to get it started again.

1. Press the CTRL, ALT and DEL keys at the same time.  

2. If you're running Windows Vista, select Task Manager.

3. Click the File->New Task (Run) menu item.

4. In the text box, enter

explorer.exe

5. Click OK.

That should get it running again.  Hope that helps.

Its a problem with explorer.exe

try this

press Ctrl+Shift+Esc then click File>New type explorer.exe press enter
