Question:

Disassembling the gearbox on Kenwood mixer A707

The motor and belt drive on this old mixer works fine, but the speed control doesn't get transferred properly through the gearbox. I disassembled the gearbox from the mixer, but cannot open it because one of the screws is under the belt wheel. I can see no way of removing the clutch mechanism or belt wheel.
Do you know how one is meant to do this?
(I imagine the mechanism is the same on newer machines. The clutch is engaged when the cover is put over the direct motor drive, when a pin pushes the 2 halves of the clutch together.)
