Disc golf: what are the best discs i could get and what do i need to know about disc golf?

i am pretty new to disc golf i am starting to get my throw down so now i need to know of some really good discs that are good for somwhat of a beginner and tell me what ever else i need to know

please give lots of details and include web sites

I use Innova discs because that is what they sell around here. There are plenty of other brands out there if you look though.

Most serious players carry a lot of discs, and the only way to know what works best for you is to try a bunch out. If you're just starting, I'd set get 3 discs: A driver, mid-range disc, and putter. I would not recommend the 3 packs though, since you cannot see the weight of the discs.

You can look over Innova's site to see what each disc is designed to do, but if I were you I'd start out with a Valkyrie driver, shark mid range disc, and Aviar putter. Stick with weights around 165-170 if you can find them (the weight is written in pen on the back of the disc). This would be a fine starting set, and will give you a feel for how the different style discs react when thrown. After that, experiment with different discs, weights, and plastics to see what you like and what works best for you. Also, many people carry several putters to practice with. Its not a bad idea if you plan on getting serious and spending a lot of time practicing.
