I was making a video using windows movie maker and I used windows DVD maker to put it on, and I put the CD in the second slot of my tower where it is supposed to go, and clicked "burn" and it says something like "Disc is not rewritable/recordable, please put a recordable disc in." It's a DVD+R so I don't get it. Isthere any other kind of a dics I could use??

And there is nothing else on the disc

  1. There are actually two types of "write-once" DVD - DVD-R and DVD+R - but any DVD burner made since about 2004 should be able to support both.

Are you sure it's actually a blank DVD+R you're trying to write to? Have you been able to burn DVD+Rs OK with this drive before?

  2. there r different types of disc for sure.e.g. -r ,-rw , +rw ,dl,ram

  3. if your DVD is silver on both sides, you may have put it in upside down.

or you may have put in a CD blank instead of a DVD.

you seem confused about CD and DVD, they are not the same. many computers have DVD players but not a DVD burner. it could be your computer only burns CDs.
