Discharge after losing mucus plug?

Question

I am 39 weeks. I lost my mucus plug 2 days ago. I am 3cm dilated and 75% effaced. Now I am having some clear/brownish tinged discharge. It is not thick or mucus-y, but it's been leaking out slowly all day long. What is it? Is this normal?

Your not far from delivering your lil bub! Congrats dont be scared but be very carefull to keep it all clean there you may find bubs head isn't far from the exit. in 2 days you could of dialated to almost fully. I would ring your hospital or dr and let them know what has happened. they can advise you correctly on what to do. Let them know of any pains back aches leg aches etc that you have had and how long they last for. Your dr may want to get you back in for a check up in case you loose too much amniotic fluid without dialation too.  but if its been leaking slowly you should be ok.

Is it watery?  You may want to make sure your water isn't leaking.  If it's got meconium in it, that would account for the brownish tinge.  Your best bet would be to call your doctor's office and explain this to them and see what they advise.  It could just be normal discharge, but better safe than sorry.

sounds like you will be a mother very soon...good luck ...you may have a leak in your waters ...hopefully labour will get going soon.

I had my water broken in hospital (as i was induced) and once they did that i had discharge like your describing, and it kept going until bub was born... hopefully its not too much longer hun!
