Discharge at 39weeks?

Question

ím 39weeks and 6days .. I just went to the restroom 5 minutes ago, and found a light yellow discharge on my underwear, it has a lil smell .... i had a 2 minutes s*x with my husband the night before trying to induce the baby .... (we havént had any s*x in 6 months) ...what could this be ??? infection ? :-( ... my next dr. appointment is on Thursday, i will ask him then, but now ím kinda worried .....

Well it could be part of your mucus plug. Mine just popped out today! Good luck. Make sure you ask your doctor

Losing Your Mucous Plug

What is the mucous plug?

The mucous plug is a collection of cervical mucus that seals the opening of the cervix. It keeps bacteria and infection from entering into the cervix, providing a protective barrier for the developing baby.

Some women will lose their mucous plug or part of their mucous plug weeks before they go into labor. Losing your mucous plug does not always mean labor will begin shortly. Keep in mind that even if a woman has begun to dilate, it may be weeks before she actually goes into labor. However, if you notice blood tinged mucous before your thirty-sixth week of pregnancy, notify your doctor right away. As your body prepares for labor your cervix will begin to dilate and thin. As your cervix opens up, your mucous plug may fall out. Losing your mucous plug is a good sign that labor is on its way. Though, it could be days or even weeks after you lose your mucous plug before labor actually starts. Many women do not lose their mucous plug at one time; instead, they lose it more gradually. They may notice an increase in vaginal secretions weeks before they go into labor.

i am inclined to ask why you guys have been abstaining? A hopefully it is not an infection because if it is that means that you are the only one abstaining but i agree it is probably your mucus plug

Honey i will be surprised if you haven't gone into labour by the time you read this answer this is normal right before going into labour.

It could be your plug (if it was like a buggary substance) then that means you'll start to dilate soon. If not, dont worry about it - its normal. Congrats.

yellow is not good i would call your dr in the morning or if you dont want to wait call him tonight to see what he wants to do rather safe then sorry good luck

discharge is completely normal in pregnancy. most the time if your mucus plug comes out it will have a green tint to it. but it can present itself as yellow. but don't worry that's normal to. it is completely safe to have s*x until you go into labor. so don't worry about that. just let your doctor know about it. that way he can keep track of your milestones. if he thinks anything sounds weird he will check. but i think your safe for now. i've had discharge sense i was 6 months and it has an odor to. but according to the doctor there is nothing wrong.
