Discharge from eyes?

For the past 3 days I have awaken to this green gunk in my eye and this morning it had dried and I wasnt able to open my eyes at all. I had to really scrub my eyelid to clean the gunk away so I could open them. I dont have any eye pain or drainage during the day, just at night while I sleep. Is this something that I need to consult my doctor about or is it just a cold...

  1. you might want to go to your doctor and check this out!

  2. Could be conjunctivitis. Your eye doctor can probably give you a free sample of eye drops to clear this up. It needs to be treated if its bad enough to seal your eyes in the morning. Infections like this can spread to your sinuses. I once had a sinus infection that spread to my eyes...  just get the eye drops now to save yourself more trouble later.

  3. You are suffering of conjunctivitis which means inflammation of the thin layer covering your eye surface.Regarding the type of discharge you have mentioned it is likely that you have caught infectious conjunctivitis meaning conjunctivitis caused by microbes. Then you may benefit of antibiotic eye drops such as chloramphenicle eye drop (1 drop every 4 hours) or sulfacetamide 20% eye drop.If your symptoms do not subside in 2 days consult an ophthalmologist in your area.

  4. It's pink eye, ie Conjunctivitis, you will need some eye drops to clear that up, it's very very contagious so wash your hands frequently!

  5. yea like the others said i think its pink eye. its just starting. the same thing happened to me just before i got pink eye. go to your doctor and get it checked out. if it is pink eye it will save a lot of trouble and irritation if you get the antibiotic drops.
