Disconnect/reconnect Gas dryer?

Question

We need to get a new gas dryer. I know we have to be careful with the gas - but is this basically what we need to do? Am I missing any steps?

Turn off the gas

Flush the line of the gas - by turning on the dryer

Disconnect the old dryer

Connect the new dryer

Turn on the gas

Put soapy water around connection to make sure no leaks

I would see if you need some kind of sealant for the pipe threads when you attached the new dryer to the gas line.  

Make sure it is legal for you to remove the gas line.  I just got this off yahoo"In most places, it is illegal for a resident to unhook the gas line!)"

Be careful and go for it.  If you smell something funny, don't stick around.
