Disconnected phone?

Question

When you leave on vacation do you disconnect your phone?

If so, you have to call them to disconnect it right?

When you return you have to call them again to make it work right?

right!!

don't disconnect the phone....tell the phone company that you go on vacation...then you get a discounted rate!! So you still have a dial tone to call 911

many, not all, but many phone companies will provide you with the very minimum phone service while you vacation, so that your bill will be at a reduced rate during the time you are gone. this is the best method...

if you disconnect your phone line, when you return you need to call to have the line reinstalled. you may not be able to get the same number again, and you will be charged a new installation fee (aprox $125 in NYC, dont know how much elsewhere, but i am sure it is similar)
