Discontinued Studies?

Hello Friends,

I chose to do a dual degree postgraduate program in one of the prestigious institute. Alas, I was totally bogged down by the kinda education they provide and lots of other things (including food, stay, study, work, etc). So, I quit without even taking a degree. And now I have applied for postgraduate degree abroad. But I've been facing a question, "Why did I discontinue my studies ?". Even though my discontinuation has strong links to personal dislike (along with petty politics inside the institute), I need to write a convincing discontinuation reason ? Any ideas and tips are welcome

u simply say - environmental factors and adaptation problems without going into specifics.  dont mention petty politics. u shld have risen above those things - so if u put that reason it will not be favourable as politics is everywhere.  

u can say u have personal family problems that bogged the mind
