  1. the people i have met who are bigoted, who discriminate against a lot of people, actually seem to like for things to never change.   they want things like they were in the 1950s, or even the 1850s.

when you try to explain the benefits of diversity, most just really don't get it.

  2. I also find that some people assume you are discriminating against them if you don't agree with them. At my job I've had to tell people of all races that we can't help them in a certain situation and there is only one race that tends to think it is because of their race they aren't eligible. I want to say, strange you should think that, because earlier today we also told a white person, a hispanic, etc... they weren't eligible and they didn't try to blame it on us being racist.

  3. You have a very good point there.  Some people can't see beyond the tip of their noses.  It would be nice if people would take time out to think about it.

  4. I'm not exactly sure what your asking. Are you insinuating that diversity couldn't exist without discrimination? If so then then I disagree with your question entirely, therefore I wouldn't answer it.

If not, and your asking why un-intelligent people don't think about  diversity before they discriminate, then I've already answered your question. These are unthoughtful people whom don't think things through.

Though the types of discrimination that can be presented, that assumingly smart people do promote, are things like credit discrimination. This happens when an employer does a credit check on a possible employee and refuses him/her the job based on their credit and nothing else. In general one's credit has nothing to do with one's job performance, especially in cases where one may have poor credit due to circumstances beyond one's control. So while your question is a great question, discrimination takes on many forms besides just differences in people's physical attributes and we must be ever mindfull of this.

  5. For those ingrained in their bias, probably not.
