  1. The problem just keeps growing exponentially.  Eventually we will not be able to prop them up.. and the starvation that will take place is going to hit hundreds of millions of people.

Sending food without taking equal steps to reduce population/population growth.. is stupidity.

  2. To understand population dynamics, you first have to understand the human being.  There are basic needs that all humans have in common.  They are, in order of importance,

    -  water

    -  food

    -  personal safety

    -  reproduction (i.e s*x)

    -  warmth & shelter

You can see, that if you give a human a safe environment, food and water, it will go right to the business of reproducing and will keep on reproducing as long as it doesnt have to worry about the first three needs.  Take any one of the first two away and s*x goes out the window along with the rise in population.

Okay, now you do the math....if you give them food and water, and they live in a safe environment, what will happen to the population?  If you take away either their food, or their water, they will die, but more importantly, they will stop breeding.  If they breed to the point that the food and water doesnt go around, they die out and stop breeding until an equilibrium is reached.

There ya go....we're all just lab rats after all  [grin].
