  1. The problem with objectivity in research is that no researcher can be completely objective. In other words, we all have our own opinions, values, and beliefs which leads us to be biased in certain ways. There is no such thing as value free research. This why we have a variety of methodologies and rules and regulations for research. They help curtail our biases, but do not completely rid of them in our research. For ethical concerns, I suggest you read the American Sociological Association's code of ethics. This highlights some of the potential ethical issues a researcher may have to address.
