The trophic levels being primary producers, primary and secondary and tertiary and quaternary consumers, and decomposers.

  1. Primary producers--> includes plants, phytoplanktons and everything that undergoes photosynthesis to make their own food.

    Consumers --> first consumers eat the producers, secondary eat the consumers, and so on..

    Decomposers --> break down decomposing materials to simpler forms

    If you'll be making a pyramid of trophic level, where the producers are on the top, it would look like an inverted pyramid. This is because as you go down to the next trophic level, much of the energy is lost, therefore only 10% is passed. This also explains why there are a lot of producers than any consumers.

    The role of the decomposers is to break down and eat the remaining energy inside the dead body, and convert it to simpler forms. Nutrients is also broken down back to the soil.
