What are some of the issues involved in why certain diseases are not seen in the Americas but still seen in developing countries.

  1. 1. Sanitation - developing countries are still building sanitation plants.  Their water supply and food are contaminated so diseases are not prevented

    2.  Over population - people live in poor crowded situations so diseases are spread easily.

    3.  Lack of Medical supplies - with a lack of medical supplies, treatments are not easily available to cure diseases

    4.  Education - developing countries have more illiterate and under educated people so they do not know how to prevent illnesses themselves.


  2. All of the above, but don't forget money.  Americans visiting Africa can take malaria meds so they won't get malaria, but the cheap stuff has so much resistance in Africa that its practically useless.  Just another example.
