Diseases such as cancer or HIV are terrible things, but everything plays a role in this world..?

Does it not? It keeps the world balanced just like the cycle of life, where everything plays a role in life.

It tries to keep the population balanced. When we find the cure for many illness and diseases, what happens when the Earth is overpopulated?

But then again, I believe in the, "When a baby is born, a person dies."

Of course I'm not suggesting the many issues we have like cancer is good things, I'm just really wondering.

Tell me, what do you believe?

  1. 1...the population is increasing...where in the world did u get the 1 born 1 dies..its crazy...2.. how about war? that helps the population problem, as does car accidents.fires,choking,,,murder..3..but i agree with you...every time i see bags of rice or flour giving to desert tribes...there is no water..no food,,,no work,,,and we help them with food and medicine,,,so they can get healty and  make more babys..

  2. I agree, take away those pesky flys and ants away and see what kind of a mess you have and if all your pretty flowers die, my only prblem is that mankind has invented to many things to prolong  and bring life in this world and mankind is the cause of or the producer of alot of diseases, this throws of all of the natural elements of balance, I'm not sure aids or hiv is a natural disease and not man made, or the fact people are living alot longer thanks to medicines and babys are haveing babys again and this throws a loop into the system, and blah blah blah and i could keep going about how man has screwed up the circle of life.

  3. I'd love to think that we can cure Cancer and HIV, and control population with sensible birth control.

BUT, I do think everything plays a role in everything.  I have a similar discomfort with the idea of the US and Russia destroying the last bit of cholera virus.  What if it turns out to be useful for something and the last bit of it has been destroyed?

  4. Yes.  Which does not mean that the role is good -- indeed, it can be horrible.  Which is why people go to great lengths to overcome the adversities of nature.  It is not true that "when a baby is born, a person dies" -- that would mean an unchanging population, which is obviously not the case.
