Dish Network vs Time Warner?

My parents and I have DirecTV. When I become old enough, I considered about Warner and Dish.

I keep considering Dish over Warner for various of reasons especially Turbo HD.

I like HD programming and want a HD/DVR. The say both Warner and Dish DVR are better than Tivo. So I would not get DirecTV again.

I need opinions and details on Warner and Dish

  1. Let me say first that I am a Dish Subscriber and Biased in toward Dish.  Having said that, do not get so carried away with the Turbo Dish.  From what I have seen of picture quality, I SEE NO DIFFENCE.  The reference to 1080P signals is only applicable to Pay Per View Movies (VOD - Video On Demand).  It does not apply to regular subscribed channels.

  2. Basically ANYTHING is better than Tivo.

I would go for Dish because you get MORE for your money than Time Warner.

Basic channels start at $31.99 with Dish

Basic channels start at $47.99 with TimeWarner

If you're willing to go as much as Time Warner's basic, you might as well get the Top 250 from Dish ($49.99) and that's A LOT of GOOD channels!!

DishDVR costs $5.00 mo. (compared to $10 with TimeWarner)

Dish and TimeWarner's HD cost the same, but Dish keeps adding MORE and MORE HD channels as the time goes by (They're expecting 100+ more!!)

And from Ex-DirecTV customers, they were VERY satisfied with DishHD because it looked more HD than DirecTV!

Cable says that the satellite will always lose signal. Not true!

One time my Dish worked excellent during a nasty storm!

And with cable, it went out even when it was sunny!

Either way Dish is better than TimeWarner!!!!!!!! GO DISH!!! ^_^
