Dish TV for your PC? Has anyone tried this and does it work well?

I keep seeing these ads to download software that will allow you to view TV channels on your PC. One time payment with no other monthly payments. Too good to be true?

I've been tempted as well. My buddy said he tired one that cost $20 or so and it really sucked. I'm not sure if that because it was so cheap or because the product (Sat. TV) is a rip off.
