I just got this really neat remote for my basement tv (it controls an av box for my games, dvd player, etc...)

im pretty sure it is an IR remote.

the sat box is in the other room, (which im told IR cant do) but when i at least try to program it i cant get it to control tv2 on the satbox. i get it to control tv1, so i know its working, but it wont let me do tv2. someone said thats because its not an RF remote. is that true? also how can i switch my dish remotes around so that the one that controls tv1 controls tv2?

  1. If you got a dual Dish Net DVR, then yes TV1 (the green remote) is IR only and TV2 (the blue remote) is RF.  The idea is that TV1 is used in the same room as the DVR and TV2 is used in another room (or the basement).  The TV2 remote does have IR capability too so it can control other devices.

So, if you have a compatible IR remote, you must use it for TV1 in the same room as the DVR.

    I hope this helps.
