Dish network? satellite??? help!!!??

i have dvr from dishnetwork and i tried to move it from the tv in my living room to a different tv but it wouldnt work. im pretty sure theres other things you have to do besides hook up the wires.....im really confused, plzzz help me!

Do you have wires running from your dish (or switch) to the room you're moving the receiver to? THat is the main thing. It's not like cable that you can just put a splitter on, you need an actual satellite switch (DPP or DP type switch)

You should have never done this. Customers make this mistake all the time. Receivers can't just be moved from room to room because there are certain ways that the technician configures the insullation using switches, high frequency barrels, diplexers, etc.
