would I be better off to switch satellite companies or do you think dish will give us back our ABC coverage

How far are you from Shreveport? I do not get any of my locals from Dish l use an antennae. I use one on my roof and it picks up all of my local channels. I am about 35 miles from Milwaukee. I get ABC, CBS, NBC, TheCW, and FOX.

I also use my antennae for my HD channels. I plug my antennae into the antennae input on the DVR from dish and it integrates seemlessly. I would wait it out a while though. If you really must have ABC and they can not offer you a different solution then cancel.

it may take a while, but they will get your local affiliates to you one way or another. Until then, you can inquire about distant network services, the same affiliate but from another city. I know that DirecTV does it but I'm not too sure about Dish.
