Dishwasher Help!! Soap everywhere!?

Okay, so we ran out of dishwasher detergent, and my little brother had the genius idea of using dishsoap instead. Now, there's soap bubbles all over the floor. I stopped the dishwasher, but what do I do now? Should I open it??

Nothing will happen because inside the dishwasher there is a float that brings the water level up to a point where the water can't over flow onto the floor. Put your dishwasher on rinse cycle a few times to get rid of all the soap.

You'll just see a whole lot of bubbles everywhere...

Break out the mop.  You're going to have a mess.  With any luck, it didn't hurt the washer.

Turn it to the drain cycle and drain out what you can. (use cancel/drain button if it is electronic control).

Then you can wait a little for the suds to go down but you might as well open it up and mop up the suds.

Then pour a cup of cooking oil in the dishwasher. The soap  and suds will be consumed trying to break down the oil. Then run it a little and drain it again.

That should get rid of the soap. You might have to repeat the oil, rinse, and drain depending on how much soap he put in there.

You will need to open it to clean it out. If you continue to try to run it with regular dishsoap in it, it will only cause more of a mess with soap and water leaking out and going everywhere. The pressure from the bubbles force the door seal to open and out comes the mess.

Try to get out as much of the dishsoap as you can, then run vinegar thru it, that will help rinse the remaining residue out.

the first thing a dish washer does when you start it is to drain then fill turn it back to start let it drain then fill then turn it back to start do this several times till you flush it don't let it wash after fill open the door to stop it then turn it back to start
