Dishwasher Help?

I have a maytag dishwasher. The red power light is still on but the dishwasher will not turn on at all. any ideas? thanks

It may be on a sanitizing heat setting and not kicking on because the heating element is screwed up. Here is a way to check. Turn it on and off and that should make it go through a drain cycle. After that turn the water on hot in you sink. After the water is hot hot slam the door of your washer (the door not being shut good may also be the problem) and restart the washer. If it was trying to get to santi heat and couldnt then it should start washing after it fill up with water.
